Works for the Tseung Kwan O Line comprise the construction and maintenance
of the trackwork between temporary bulkheads at the Eastern harbour
Crossing junction and Po Lam Station and Tseung Kwan O Depot, including
a centre siding and connections to the Kwun Tong Line in Black Hill
Tunnel, a refuge siding at Po Lam Station and connecting tracks to,
and all tracks within, Tseung Kwan O Depot. The Works for the Kwun
Tong Line diversion comprise the construction and maintenance of the
trackwork between temporary bulkheads at Lam Tin Station junction
and the overrun tracks beyond Tiu Keng Leng Station, including connections
to the Tseung Kwan O Line in Black Hill Tunnel.
The Works include approximately 27 km of continuously welded single
track and 27 No turnouts on the running lines, all constructed of
UIC60 section rail, and approximately 8 km of plain lines and 20 No
turnouts, all constructed of BS1190A (M) section rail, in the Tseung
Kwan O Depot.
The Tseung Kwan O Extension traction power supply will be delivered
to the rolling stock by an overhead conductor system designed to interface
with the current collection equipment mounted on train roofs.
